Sean and Jordan - A Full Circle Adoptions

Introduction

Dear Expectant Parent(s),

Hello, we are Sean and Jordan! We appreciate you taking the time to get to know us and our story.

Our Story

We met each other through a mutual friend in college, and for Sean, it was love at first sight. He instantly gravitated towards Jordan, and we began talking on Facebook before Sean asked for her number. His first text was to ask her out on a date. Everything went so well that the date lasted for hours and hours. Sean asked Jordan to be his girlfriend, and the rest is history!

We both finished college and then spent some time in a long-distance relationship while Jordan attended a technical school. Soon after being reunited, Sean proposed, and we were married in the summer of 2016.

The years went by, and in 2020 we felt financially prepared to have a child. In the Spring of 2021, our daughter, Millie, was born, and for two years, she was the absolute joy of our lives. Unfortunately, Millie was born with a genetic disease that claimed her life in 2023, but we still hold hope in our hearts for the future. The risks are too high to conceive biologically again; however we have so much love to give as parents, so we are seeking a new light to fill our lives. We know we were put on this Earth to be parents and cannot wait to have a child to love again.

About Sean

As a kid, I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. While everyone else in class wanted to be an astronaut or a doctor, I wasn’t so sure. As time went on, it became clearer and clearer to me that I didn’t care what my career was — I just wanted to be a great father.

Well, to be a great father, you need to provide for your family, so of course, I still had to have a career. I played to my strengths in numbers and now work as an analyst for a cutting-edge technology company. I enjoy my job and like to participate in company-centric extracurriculars, such as volunteer days or charity drives.

In daily life, I’m a curious adventurer, whether that be taking our two dogs on a hike or trying new cuisines. There’s a whole big, diverse world out there, and I want to see it and share it with others. Jordan and I like to travel, and since moving to the East Coast, we’ve been able to explore so much more, from sleepy ports in Maine to the hustle and bustle of NYC, but we’ve only barely scratched the surface!

I hope to carry my adventurous spirit through fatherhood and inspire that same sense of curiosity in a child. They don’t need to be the best player on the sports team or the top of their dance class; I just want to ensure they aren’t afraid to try. Success or failure, I will always be there to support them.

About Jordan

Fashion has always been a big interest of mine and led me to where I am in life today. As a kid, I dreamed of being a stylist, able to design an entire look from head to toe. I have taken that interest and formed it into a career in retail. I am responsible for crafting how you shop on my company’s website which involves picking images, crafting themes, and more. In a way, it’s like styling the website!

Baking and cooking are other interests I developed as I started getting older. At one point in high school, I even considered opening a bakery! Now, I just bake for fun and enjoy making bread most of all. I enjoy learning different cuisines and mixing various tastes and flavors. Cooking and baking are activities that I want to enjoy with a child as a fun thing we can do together and even enjoy as a whole family.

Exploring and learning are two things I love to do in all aspects of my life. I love the ability to see new places and learn about its history and culture. I look forward to exploring the world with a child and seeing the world through their point of view. I want them to know that being curious is a great thing and that no matter where they are in life, they’ll constantly be learning.

Our Home

We have settled in a quiet home where we see ourselves staying and growing our family. We were motivated to move here for three important reasons. First, we wanted to be closer to our jobs so that we could spend more time at home as a family. Second, we wanted to move to an area with fantastic schools. Third, we chose a location a short distance from a hospital in case any medical needs arise. We were lucky to find something that ticked all those boxes and allows us to save for a future child!

While we still have a lot of exploring to do in our neighborhood, we’re fortunate to be situated just across the street from hiking/walking trails that follow a river. It’s been great to take our dogs out to stretch their legs on nice days, but hopefully, one day, we can walk the trails with a little one eager to explore. Our new town offers a variety of local activities, such as movie nights in the park and weekly themed summer activities for K-3 children. There is even a huge children’s discovery museum just a few minutes away! We love that there are so many programs for kids here, and we look forward to planting our roots in this town for the long term.

Our Family

The importance of family is something that was ingrained in each of us from the moment we were born. Jordan grew up in a small but tight-knit family. This meant every single holiday was spent together – aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents – enjoying each other’s company and love. Sean was born into a large Catholic family with so many cousins you might need a calculator to add them all up! While Sean’s family is scattered all around the US, everyone comes together once a year to catch up and spend time surrounded by loved ones.

Through the tragedy of losing our daughter, our family has been 100% supportive of us while also managing their own grief for the situation. They often say they recognize what excellent parents we were and that they are excited for us to start our next chapter with adoption. They have already pledged several ways they’d like to help us through the child’s first year, and beyond.

We have had so much support not just from family, but also from our close friends. We will certainly have no shortage of people lining up to babysit or cheering for them at sports games or performances! Our friends have already expressed interest in tagging along with us and the little one to children’s museums or on nature walks. It’s incredible to have such support from them and to know the child will be so loved and have aunts and uncles that go beyond blood relations.

Traditions, Hobbies, and Interests

Jordan’s dad and Sean’s mom definitely infused the spirit of sports into us! We’ve always enjoyed spending a sunny summer day in the bleachers at a baseball game or catching our local hockey team for fast-paced fun. It’s something that we loved to do with our daughter, as well, and was sure to put a smile on her face. There’s something magic about a crowd cheering on their favorite team!

Speaking of magic, we’re big fans of Disney and go to Disneyland at least once a year. We’ve always loved the themes that Disney movies and shows have conveyed – family, adventure, and being true to yourself, just to name a few. We enjoy going to Disneyland because it’s a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of race, religion, or creed, and everyone gets to feel like a kid again. Sean’s mother lives a short distance from the theme park, and she loved taking our daughter on the rides or to meet her favorite characters.

Every summer, Sean’s extended family gets together around the 4th of July at their family’s historic beach house to spend time with each other. It’s always a fantastic time when everyone pitches in to help cook and clean for some of the older family members. It’s joyous to see four generations interact and connect, and it consistently serves as a highlight of our year!

Thank you

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at our book and learn a bit about our family. Thank you for opening your heart to the idea of adoption and for contemplating aiding the path towards making our family complete. You are so brave and loving to consider adoption, and we know it does not come lightly. We constantly dream of being parents again and cannot wait to give all our love to a child.

We’ve learned the best thing a parent can do for their child is to give them an opportunity to succeed. We’ve moved our lives multiple times to be near the best schools, a top-notch hospital, a community with children’s learning programs, and a home with outdoor space to play. We have a large family who are ready and available to nurture and support, and raise a happy, healthy, and, most of all, loved child.

Regardless of the level of openness that is preferred, we will always remind the child of the loving choice their birth mother made for them and of how strong and brave she was and is from now until forever.

We hope that we are granted the blessing of becoming parents again, but we want you to know that regardless of your choice, we have nothing but respect and admiration for you for even considering this path. We wish you and the baby happiness, health, and love in the future.

Sincerely,

Sean & Jordan
