Introduction
Dear Expectant Parent(s),
Hello, we are Gary and Brandon!
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We are honored to be sharing our story and are thrilled for you to get to know us as prospective parents.
Our Story
We met in 2018 and it was love at first sight. After leaving our first date, we both knew that we each met someone truly special. Many more dates followed shortly after – dinners, coffee, dancing, concerts, and more. Every single date was so much fun, and filled with laughs and excitement. We also both knew what we wanted in life and our goals aligned. It was not long before we became an official couple.
As the years have gone by, we’ve celebrated many milestones in our relationship. We rented our first apartment together, raised an adorable pug puppy, and purchased our first home. Instead of the typical marriage proposal, we planned our engagement together. In June of 2022, we went on a romantic vacation and put our rings on in a beautiful garden surrounded by roses. Our families and friends were thrilled to hear the news!
We were married in March of 2024 surrounded by our loved ones. Our journey as a couple throughout the years has been amazing, and we are very excited to start the next chapter of our lives together by pursuing adoption. There is so much love and happiness in our home and we cannot wait to share it with a child.
About Brandon
I would describe my personality as fun and outgoing. I am a “people person” who thrives on human interaction. I really enjoy challenging myself and trying new things. I definitely am the more spontaneous out of the two of us and often push Gary out of his comfort zone to try new things with me.
I would consider myself as someone who is responsible, hard-working and driven. As weird as this sounds, I really enjoy working! Growing up, the value of hard work and integrity was always instilled in my siblings and I. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. I currently work at a tech company and I am very passionate about what I do. I work fully remote, and my employer is very generous with time off so I will certainly be able to balance work with raising a child.
My favorite place to be is at the beach or by the water. In the summer, I try to squeeze in as many beach days as I can. If I am going by myself, I will relax with a good book. When we have family beach trips, I love playing sports or going for a swim with my nephew. We hope to make many memories at the beach when we bring a child into our home.
About Gary
I would consider myself kind, loving, and thoughtful. I pride myself on being someone who never misses a loved one’s birthday or milestone and I enjoy showing the people in my life how much I love and care for them. I also like to laugh and have fun as often as I can. I have a more laid-back and patient personality.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Service Management. I worked in restaurants for a while and enjoyed it, but I eventually desired a career that would allow for more work-life balance. After careful consideration, I changed my career path and currently work as a Quality Auditor and I am very happy at my job. I also work fully remote, and my employer is very flexible. I now channel my passion for food by cooking for the ones I love at home!
Besides cooking, I enjoy creating art. I like painting, drawing, and putting together all sorts of crafts. I have always been a creative person, and I hope to share this with a child. I can picture us painting together or coming up with a fun craft to encourage their creativity.
Hobbies & Passions
Our relationship works really well because we always have so much fun with each other. We really enjoy cooking together, whether its grilling in the summer or making a cozy meal together in the winter. For both of us, cooking is the way we show our love. Gary’s most “famous” dish is his pizza – it took years for him to perfect his pizza dough recipe! When family and friends come to visit, we make sure that no one leaves hungry.
Another important interest of ours is fitness. Jogging together, practicing yoga, or going to an exercise class are just a few ways we like to stay active. We also enjoy breaking up our day with a nice walk through our neighborhood with our dog. In our free time, you can find us running with our local run club, or participating in a 5k race.
At the end of the day, we enjoy cozying up on the couch with a cup of tea and putting on a movie or TV show. We have very eclectic taste. Some of our favorite genres are documentaries, lighthearted comedies, and cooking shows. This is our time to unwind, laugh, and reconnect after busy days.
Our Home
We fell in love with our house the moment we saw it. It had that instant “home” feeling for us. Brandon’s favorite room is the living room, it’s the perfect place to relax and read a book. Gary of course loves the kitchen, fully equipped with a multitude of kitchen gadgets and cookbooks. As we both work from home, we each have our own office space as well. We also have a large fenced-in backyard – we spend a lot of time outside playing with our dog, entertaining friends and family, or simply relaxing on a sunny day.
We live in a suburban town in Massachusetts. Our neighborhood is another reason our house truly feels like home. Our neighbors are friendly and diverse, and we were warmly welcomed when we first moved in. There are restaurants and shops a short walk away, and the library is right down the street. We also live right next to a park which has a large playground, baseball field and basketball courts. It’s really nice to walk through these areas and be immersed in our community.
Traditions
We have many traditions we already celebrate with each other and our families, and we look forward to making many more as the years go on. Birthdays are especially important to us, as we love to celebrate the people in our life. No birthday will go on without the proper celebration including cake, candles, gifts, and a lot of laughter.
Autumn is our favorite time of year – New England in the fall is absolutely beautiful! We love to go to apple orchards and treat ourselves to an apple cider donut, or go pick out the perfect pumpkin at a pumpkin patch. Halloween is one of our favorite holidays. Gary lets his creative side shine by coming up with costume ideas. We also love to take our nephew trick-or-treating every year.
The holiday season is another favorite time of year for us. Every winter brings us some snow. We have the perfect backyard for our future child to play in. Brandon goes all out in decorating the house, and is excited to decorate the house with a child in the future. We spend many nights together in December watching holiday movies and sipping hot cocoa. Christmas was such a special time for both of our families growing up, and we can’t wait to make it just as special for the child we adopt.
Our Family
Family means so much to both of us. We both have large families who are over the moon that we are pursuing the adoption process! Each of our parents is eager to welcome a grandchild into their lives. Gary’s three older brothers are married and have kids, so our future child will have many cousins to play with. We get together with our families often and cherish all of the time we have together.
We also are lucky to be surrounded by friends that we consider family. Many of our friends already have kids or plan to, so we will be scheduling a lot of play dates in the future! Our circle of loved ones is something we are extremely grateful for.
Thank you
Thank you for taking the time to start to get to know us. We strongly believe we are meant to be parents, and we are so excited that we are at the right point in our lives to make this step. If we are chosen as adoptive parents for your child, we promise to give the baby a loving and supportive environment to grow up in. We will fill their childhood with amazing experiences and memories, and ensure they have everything they need to grow up healthy, happy, and loved unconditionally.
We would love to be able to keep you updated on how they are doing, and work with you to create a level of openness that you are comfortable with. We intend to have our child understand how much love and care their birthparents had for them to make this decision.
We are truly honored and excited to share our story with you. We wish you the best in whatever choice you make, and we cannot thank you enough for considering us to be the adoptive parents of your child. We are looking forward to the day we bring a child into our loving home.
Sincerely,
