Adoption In Arizona: What Happens Before and After The Placement

Are you pregnant and considering adoption in Arizona? Opting for adoption can feel hard and emotional. Learning what happens before and after placement can help you feel more prepared.

Full Circle Adoptions is here to help you. Our team offers care, support, and guidance during every step of the adoption journey.

Before the Placement

Contact Our Team

The process starts with a simple discussion with our adoption social worker. An expectant mother can reach out to our adoption agency by text, phone or email. You can ask as many questions as you want, and we will explain your options.

There is no rush to make a decision right away. You can take your time thinking about your options.

Prepare Adoption Plan

If you have made the decision to place your baby for adoption, the next step is creating an adoption plan. This plan helps you decide what you want for your baby.

There are three types of adoption plans for you to choose from: open, semi-open, and closed. Each type allows you to maintain a different level of contact with the adoptive family after placement.

Choose an Adoptive Family

We will share profiles of adoptive families waiting to welcome a child. You can review the adoptive families and interview and choose the one that feels right for you.

Adoption Support

You may receive support during pregnancy. It will include:

Emotional care and counseling

Assistance with certain living expenses

Support with hospital plans

During Placement

Placement is when the baby is placed with the adoptive family.

You, as the birth mother, may want to consider some options. You may want to spend time with the baby, take photos, or make memories before placement.

Birth mothers may also choose to meet the adoptive family at the hospital. During this time, our adoption counselors will provide support to you and help you with whatever you need.

After Placement

Your life after placing your baby can take some time to feel normal again. Healing is very important. Many women join support groups after placement and continue counseling.

Talking with our team can help birth mothers process their feelings and move forward. In open adoptions, the expectant mother may stay in touch with the adoptive family through photos, letters, or visits.

At Full Circle Adoptions, support does not end after placement. From the beginning and after placement, we continue to guide and help birth mothers navigate the journey with compassion and care.

If you are considering adoption in Arizona, connect with us today. Adoption is more than making a plan for a child. It is about caring, respecting, and acknowledging birth mothers before, during, and after the journey.
