Introduction
Hello birthparent(s),
We are Olivia and Jonathan, and we’re so appreciative that you are taking the time to read our profile! As we pray for you, we are so grateful for your bravery and love to make this difficult decision.
Our Story
We just celebrated eight years of marriage, and through the ups and downs we’re still one another’s best friend and deeply in love. When we met at a young adults’ group at a church, we knew we had found our someone special in each other from that very first encounter.
Mutual friends and even the pastor saw sparks flying and played matchmaker. A game of basketball sealed the deal when we realized we shared a love for playful competition. Our similarities in the things that matter- shared values and faith- helped bring us together. Though we are opposites in other ways, we’ve found that our differences make us a well-rounded and unstoppable team.
We got married almost two years exactly after we first met, and since then we have built a life together. We cheered each other on in our careers, had homework dates while we simultaneously got our master’s degrees, traveled together (including a trip to Puerto Rico to meet Jonathan’s family), and bought a house, but our greatest adventure together yet has been becoming parents.
Our vision for our family has always included both biological and adopted children, and both boys and girls. We have two beautiful boys already, but we also experienced pregnancy losses before each was born. We have made the decision to close the door to additional biological children due to the emotional toll of these losses as well as for Olivia’s physical safety since one pregnancy was nearly fatal. While our road to parenthood hasn’t always been smooth, we are incredibly excited to start this next chapter by adding a little girl to our family through adoption.
Meet Olivia
About Olivia by Jonathan:
One of the first things that drew me to Olivia was how gentle and inviting she is with other people. She is selfless and emotionally intelligent and is always showing me love with creativity and generosity, such as leaving little notes for me or sneaking in extra hugs. She is intentional with all of her relationships and values quality time. Her sweetness is paired with a competitive side that comes out when we play board games and sports. These traits coupled with intelligence, humility, and warmth, make her a joy to be around.
One of Olivia’s gifts is hospitality: she always wants people to feel welcomed and comfortable in our home, and is quick to offer a wide spread of teas and snacks. Our family enjoys her bountiful hugs and daily snuggles, but also her tenacity, support, and advocacy for our well-being. She is an amazing mom and is always thinking about each of our children. I have no doubt she will be an incredible mom to a little girl too!

I love spending time with friends and family, being outside, having fun, being active and drinking a good cup of tea! I am passionate about intercultural engagement.
I have previously enjoyed an exciting and meaningful career, but I’m now in a season of being a stay-at-home mom to our boys. I delight in being a mom, and look forward to a lifetime of adventure with my family!

Meet Jonathan:
About Jonathan by Olivia
Jonathan is a papa bear in every sense. He is fiercely loving and protective but is also as affectionate and cuddly as a teddy bear. He is strong and gentle, and those qualities shine forth in his roles as daddy and husband. Our boys and our nieces all just adore him and his fun, goofy energy. He is incredibly brave, and a man of deep conviction and integrity. He has overcome a tremendous amount of adversity, and his love for his family spurs him on to continue to be the best man he can be.
Whether it is a family board game night, snuggling up on the couch reading a story to Miles, or having a tickle fest with Leo there is nothing he loves more than spending time with family. He takes such good care of all of us, through his job, the meals he cooks, and the way he listens and loves. He knows how to and is not afraid to have difficult but necessary conversations with much love and grace, making him the unsung hero among both sides of our families as well as with his friends. He is always making space for those the world forgets about.
In his own words:
I’m a 6’4” friendly giant that likes to spend quality time with family, watch movies, cook, exercise and play video games for fun. I have always lived in Massachusetts (MA), but my family is from Puerto Rico, and I have enjoyed traveling there on many occasions over the years. I like to help others, and I absolutely love being a daddy! I’m grateful to be able to work remotely because it allows me to have lunches and dinners with my family and creates a healthy work-life balance.

● He studied cinematography in college, then got an MBA
● He is into Marvel/DC, Ninja Turtles and Star Wars
● He considers himself a foodie, but his all-time favorite is pizza
The Big Brothers
We chose to adopt while our boys are young so our kids can all be close in age and grow up together. Our daughter will have two older brothers looking out for her! Siblings can help each other to be well-rounded individuals, and we believe our boys need a sister to be the best versions of themselves.
Leo: He’s cute, he’s squishy, and he’s a whole lotta fun. This little guy is a bundle of giggles and an avid Jolly Jumper. He loves people (almost as much as he loves eating) and has gotten very chatty recently, but no one can make him laugh the way his big brother does.
Miles: He’s got a smile that melts grandmas and strangers alike into a puddle, and gives the best hug you’ve ever had. Miles is three, and has embraced big brotherhood with gusto. He is eager to help, has a voracious appetite for learning, and lights up any room he walks into. We’ve talked with him about adoption, and he keeps asking when the new baby is coming!
Life in our family is filled with fun and giggles. As with any group of humans living together, there are tears and frustrations too, but we try to navigate those things with grace and love. We love wearing matching outfits, we try not to take ourselves too seriously, and we are tall as heck. We love Jesus and one another, we are a little dorky, and a lot huggy. We work hard and play hard. We aim to be kind and wise, and we strive to be healthy and balanced in all spheres of life.
Our Parenting Style:
Affectionate & Empowering
We want to empower our kids to become the people they are meant to be. Our goal is to encourage them to grow, try new things, and discover the gifts God has placed in them so they can positively impact their family, community, and the world. We also encourage our children to participate in family life in age-appropriate ways, celebrate their contributions, and guide them in self-care, safety, and life skills as they grow. We never skimp on affection in this family. We’re quick to celebrate and remind them how much we love, cherish and enjoy them. There is an abundance of giggles, hugs and kisses in our home, and there always will be.
Our Home/Community
We live in a beautiful, rural suburb in MA. We have an acre of land with ample space for playing in the yard, and will also frequently go for walks around our neighborhood. We bought our fixer-upper five years ago, and after much TLC (and evicting some squirrels) we have transformed it into the cozy home it is today. The lower level is Jonathan’s home office, and upstairs is where all the shenanigans and fun happen. Our three-season screen porch is one of our favorite spots to enjoy some fresh air and the tranquility of nature.
We love where we are for many reasons. There are dozens of great educational institutes, there are lots of community events and programs to be involved in, and we can get fresh produce from the many area farms. There are plenty of fun things to do and points of interest to explore. We especially enjoy that our community is quiet and safe. The boys love going to the library and the playground that is right by our house. We frequently visit local museums, parks, farmer’s markets, zoos and local festivals with friends and family.
Our “Village”
Our support network runs deep and wide. We have a number of dear friends, some single, some with kids, some close and some far. We are also connected with a lot of families at our church. We spend a lot of time with our family. The vast majority of our immediate and extended family members also live in MA and we talk with them and see them all frequently. Olivia’s parents are 17 minutes away, and we typically see them 4-5x per week. We also have monthly lunches with Olivia’s siblings and parents. Jonathan’s parents are a little further away, but they come to visit often and love to have us over on the weekends for visits/sleepovers.
Jonathan’s sister has four girls, and we see them frequently as well. It is a lot of fun getting the cousins together knowing they’ll have each other for years to come. We have an army of aunties and uncles who cannot get enough of our boys, and help out all the time. Our whole family and our friends are super excited for us to have another baby. She’ll be the first girl on Olivia’s side, so we’re anticipating a pink explosion upon her arrival with all the pent up girl enthusiasm!
Traditions & Holidays Season by Season
We tend to go all-out for holidays, birthdays and other major celebrations! (They’re a great excuse to dress up our kids and wear matching outfits!) Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving are big in our family, but we joke that Black Friday is Jonathan’s favorite holiday because he loves finding a good bargain.
Every summer we go up to a campground on a lake with our family and friends. We stay in a cabin and enjoy the beach, boating, swimming, campfires, board game nights on the cabin porch, and more!
Winter is filled with fun in the snow, festive holiday events, and enjoyment of the many local indoor amusements in our area!
In addition to the gorgeous foliage, fall brings all kinds of outdoor enjoyment. Corn mazes, apple picking, pumpkin carving, or even just a stroll down the street to take it all in. We also enjoy things like visiting New England’s biggest fair, the Big E.
Every spring, we spend lots of time outside as we defrost from winter. Olivia has a *slightly* green thumb and enjoys small doses of gardening, which the kids also enjoy helping with!

Somos Olivia y Jonathan, y estamos muy agradecidos de que se estén tomando el tiempo para leer nuestro perfil. Mientras oramos por ustedes, queremos decirles cuánto admiramos su valentía y el amor que demuestra tomar una decisión tan difícil.
Nuestra Historia
Acabamos de celebrar ocho años de matrimonio, y a través de los momentos buenos y los desafíos seguimos siendo mejores amigos y profundamente enamorados. Nos conocimos en un grupo de jóvenes adultos en la iglesia, y desde ese primer encuentro sentimos que habíamos encontrado a alguien muy especial.
Nuestros amigos en común, e incluso el pastor, notaron la chispa entre nosotros y ayudaron un poco a que comenzara nuestra historia. Un partido de baloncesto terminó de confirmar que compartíamos el amor por la competencia divertida. Nuestros valores y nuestra fe en común fueron lo que realmente nos unió. Aunque en algunas cosas somos diferentes, esas diferencias nos han convertido en un equipo fuerte y equilibrado.
Nos casamos casi exactamente dos años después de conocernos, y desde entonces hemos construido una vida hermosa juntos. Nos hemos apoyado en nuestras carreras, estudiamos nuestras maestrías al mismo tiempo (¡hasta teníamos citas de estudio!), viajamos juntos, incluyendo un viaje a Puerto Rico para conocer la familia de Jonathan, y compramos nuestra casa. Pero nuestra mayor aventura hasta ahora ha sido convertirnos en padres.
Siempre hemos imaginado una familia que incluya hijos biológicos y adoptados, tanto niños como niñas. Actualmente tenemos dos hermosos hijos, pero también vivimos pérdidas de embarazo antes de que naciera cada uno de ellos. Después de esas experiencias, y por la seguridad física de Olivia, ya que uno de los embarazos fue casi fatal, decidimos cerrar la puerta a tener más hijos biológicos.
Aunque nuestro camino hacia la paternidad no siempre ha sido fácil, estamos llenos de esperanza y emoción por comenzar este nuevo capítulo y dar la bienvenida a una niña en nuestra familia a través de la adopción.

Sobre Olivia por Jonathan
Una de las primeras cosas que me atrajo de Olivia fue su manera tan amable y acogedora de tratar a los demás. Es una persona muy generosa y emocionalmente sensible. Siempre encuentra maneras creativas de demostrar amor, como dejarme pequeñas notas o darme abrazos sorpresa. Valora mucho el tiempo de calidad y es muy intencional con sus relaciones. Su dulzura también tiene un lado competitivo que aparece cuando jugamos juegos de mesa o practicamos deportes. Su inteligencia, humildad y calidez hacen que sea una alegría estar con ella.
Olivia tiene un gran don de hospitalidad. Siempre quiere que las personas se sientan bienvenidas y cómodas en nuestro hogar, y es la primera en ofrecer té y algo rico para comer. Nuestra familia disfruta muchísimo de sus abrazos y de los momentos de cariño diarios. También apreciamos su fortaleza, su apoyo y la manera en que siempre defiende el bienestar de nuestra familia. Es una mamá increíble, siempre pensando en cada uno de nuestros hijos. No tengo ninguna duda de que también será una maravillosa mamá para una niña.

Me encanta pasar tiempo con mi familia y amigos, estar al aire libre, divertirme, mantenerme activa y disfrutar una buena taza de té. También me apasiona conectar con personas de diferentes culturas. Antes tuve una carrera muy emocionante y significativa, pero ahora estoy disfrutando una etapa como mamá a tiempo completo de nuestros hijos. Ser mamá es una gran alegría para mí, y espero con ilusión una vida llena de aventuras con mi familia.

Sobre Jonathan por Olivia:
Jonathan es un “papá oso” en todo el sentido de la palabra. Es muy protector y amoroso, pero también es tan cariñoso y tierno como un osito de peluche. Es fuerte y a la vez gentil, y esas cualidades se reflejan claramente en su papel como papá y esposo. Nuestros hijos y nuestras sobrinas lo adoran por su energía divertida y juguetona. Es una persona muy valiente, con fuertes valores e integridad. Ha superado muchos desafíos en su vida, y el amor por su familia lo motiva a seguir creciendo y siendo el mejor hombre que puede ser.
Ya sea durante una noche de juegos en familia, leyendo un cuento en el sofá con Miles o jugando y riendo con Leo, lo que más ama en la vida es pasar tiempo con su familia. Nos cuida de muchas maneras: a través de su trabajo, de las comidas que prepara, y de la forma en que escucha con paciencia y amor. También tiene una habilidad especial para tener conversaciones importantes con mucha gracia y respeto. Es el tipo de persona que siempre está dispuesto a dar espacio y apoyo a quienes a veces el mundo olvida.

Los Hermanos Mayores
Decidimos adoptar mientras nuestros hijos aún son pequeños para que todos crezcan cerca en edad y puedan compartir la vida juntos. Nuestra hija tendrá dos hermanos mayores que la cuidarán y la querrán mucho. Creemos que los hermanos ayudan a formar personas más completas, y pensamos que nuestros niños también necesitan una hermana para convertirse en las mejores versiones de sí mismos.
Leo es lindo, es apachurrable y es muy divertido. Este pequeño es un montón de risitas y un fanático del Jolly Jumper. Le encanta la gente (casi tanto como le encanta comer) y últimamente se ha vuelto muy parlanchín, pero nadie puede hacerlo reír como su hermano mayor.
Miles, que tiene tres años, se ha tomado muy en serio su papel de hermano mayor. Tiene una sonrisa que derrite a todos y da los mejores abrazos. Le encanta aprender y siempre quiere ayudar. Hemos hablado con él sobre la adopción y constantemente pregunta cuándo llegará el nuevo bebé.
La vida en nuestra familia está llena de risas, juegos y mucho cariño. Como en cualquier hogar, también hay momentos de lágrimas o frustración, pero tratamos de enfrentarlos con amor y gracia. Nos gusta vestirnos con ropa combinada, reírnos de nosotros mismos y disfrutar de la vida juntos. Somos una familia alta, un poco dorky, muy cariñosa y llena de abrazos. Amamos a Jesús, nos amamos entre nosotros, trabajamos duro y también sabemos disfrutar la vida. Aspiramos a ser amables y sabios, y nos esforzamos por llevar una vida sana y equilibrada en todos los aspectos de la vida.

Queremos ayudar a nuestros hijos a convertirse en las personas que están destinados a ser. Nuestro deseo es animarlos a crecer, probar cosas nuevas y descubrir los talentos que Dios puso en ellos para que puedan impactar positivamente a su familia, su comunidad y el mundo. También los animamos a participar en la vida familiar de maneras apropiadas para su edad, celebramos sus aportes y les enseñamos habilidades importantes como el autocuidado, la seguridad y la responsabilidad. En nuestra familia nunca falta el cariño. Siempre celebramos a nuestros hijos y les recordamos cuánto los amamos. En nuestro hogar abundan las risas, los abrazos y los besos, y siempre será así.
Nuestro Hogar y Comunidad
Vivimos en un hermoso suburbio rural en Massachusetts. Tenemos un acre de terreno, con mucho espacio para jugar en el patio y salir a caminar por el vecindario. Compramos nuestra casa hace cinco años y, después de mucho trabajo y cariño, la hemos convertido en el hogar acogedor que es hoy. El nivel inferior es la oficina en casa de Jonathan, y arriba es donde ocurren todas las travesuras y la diversión. Nuestro porche con mosquitero de tres estaciones es uno de nuestros lugares favoritos para disfrutar del aire fresco y la tranquilidad de la naturaleza.
Nos encanta nuestra comunidad porque tiene excelentes escuelas, eventos comunitarios, granjas locales con productos frescos y muchos lugares interesantes para explorar. Además, es un lugar tranquilo y seguro para criar niños. A nuestros hijos les encanta ir a la biblioteca y al parque que está cerca de casa. También disfrutamos visitar museos, parques, mercados agrícolas, zoológicos y festivales locales con amigos y familia.
Nuestra “Aldea”
Tenemos una red de apoyo muy grande. Contamos con muchos amigos cercanos, familias de nuestra iglesia y una familia extendida muy presente. La mayoría de nuestros familiares viven también en Massachusetts, por lo que nos vemos con frecuencia. Los padres de Olivia viven a solo 17 minutos, y los vemos varias veces por semana. Los padres de Jonathan viven un poco más lejos, pero nos visitan a menudo y también pasamos fines de semana con ellos.
La hermana de Jonathan tiene cuatro niñas, y también las vemos con frecuencia. Es muy divertido reunir a los primos sabiendo que se tendrán los unos a los otros durante muchos años. Tenemos un ejército de tías y tíos que no se cansan de nuestros niños y nos ayudan todo el tiempo. Toda nuestra familia y nuestros amigos están súper emocionados de que vayamos a tener otro bebé. Será la primera niña del lado de Olivia, así que estamos anticipando una explosión de color rosa cuando llegue, ¡con todo el entusiasmo acumulado por una niña!
Tradiciones y Fiestas Temporada por Temporada
¡Solemos celebrarlo todo a lo grande en las fiestas, cumpleaños y otras celebraciones importantes! (¡Son una excelente excusa para vestir a nuestros hijos y llevar conjuntos a juego!) Navidad, Pascua y Acción de Gracias son grandes celebraciones en nuestra familia, pero bromeamos diciendo que el Black Friday es la fiesta favorita de Jonathan porque le encanta encontrar una buena oferta.
Cada verano vamos a un campamento junto a un lago con nuestra familia y amigos. Nos quedamos en una cabaña y disfrutamos de la playa, paseos en bote, natación, fogatas, noches de juegos de mesa en el porche de la cabaña ¡y mucho más!
Además del hermoso follaje, el otoño trae todo tipo de actividades al aire libre. Laberintos de maíz, recolección de manzanas, tallado de calabazas, o incluso solo un paseo por la calle para disfrutar del ambiente. También disfrutamos cosas como visitar la feria más grande de Nueva Inglaterra, la Big E.
El invierno está lleno de diversión en la nieve, eventos festivos de temporada y de disfrutar de las muchas atracciones cubiertas locales de nuestra zona.
Cada primavera pasamos mucho tiempo al aire libre mientras nos recuperamos del invierno. Olivia tiene un pulgar ligeramente verde y disfruta de pequeñas dosis de jardinería, ¡con la que los niños también disfrutan ayudar!

A ustedes, querida(s) persona(s) que han tomado la decisión de hacer un plan de adopción para su bebé: no tenemos palabras suficientes para agradecerles. Tomar esta decisión requiere una enorme valentía y amor, y nos sentimos profundamente honrados de que estén considerando nuestra familia. Si llegáramos a ser elegidos, queremos que sepan que su bebé siempre conocerá la historia de amor detrás de esta decisión.
Creemos en la importancia de que cada persona conozca sus raíces (biológicas, culturales y más) y nos gustaría mantener una relación abierta con ustedes en la medida que todos se sientan cómodos. La bebé que llegue a nuestra familia será amada, celebrada, apoyada y cuidada con todo nuestro corazón.
